HR is credited with attracting and retaining talent in line with the company's current and future needs; improving skills and productivity through targeted development and training; sharpening efficiency and motivation through constant performance monitoring and, last but not least, creating a positive and inclusive working environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">HUMAN RESOURCES: A STRATEGIC ROLE RECOGNIZED?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>However, while there are signs of a growing recognition of the strategic value of the HR function (especially in companies that have realised the value of having motivated and well-trained employees), there is still much work to be done to ensure that this function is fully integrated into the company's strategy and has a significant voice in key organisational decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this regard, professional associations such as the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aidp.it\/\">Italian Association for Personnel Management<\/a> are committed, on a daily basis, to supporting and promoting HR skills development and the importance of human resources management as a critical success factor for Italian companies. But how much can be done by those directly involved, to speed up and foster recognition as a strategic partner within organisations?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TOOLS FOR EFFECTIVE PARTICIPATION<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some avenues that HR management can take, to ensure influence and participation in the decision-making structure of the company and redefine the role of human resources within the organisation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Strategic planning and involvement:<\/strong>Participating in discussions on growth plans, corporate objectives and future challenges enables HR to better understand organisational needs and develop strategies in line with corporate objectives. But that's not all, being present in contexts where important personnel decisions are made (recruitment, organisational changes, development programmes and remuneration policies) ensures that actions are informed and adapted to the needs of employees, and of the company, through input based on the HR function's expertise.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Effective communication:<\/strong> Being able to articulate the added value of HR initiatives and demonstrate how they contribute to business results can help gain trust and respect within the organisation. In short, the importance of HR issues and the implications of business decisions on personnel must be communicated clearly and persuasively.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Presentation of data and analysis<\/strong>: providing in-depth HR data and analysis can help demonstrate the value added by HR (Read also: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alveria.it\/english\/2023\/09\/12\/hr-people-analytics-and-data-democratisation\/\">Hr &amp; People Analytics And Data Democratization<\/a>). Using metrics such as: turnover; absenteeism; recruitment efficiency and the impact of training programmes on employees, HR management can highlight the importance of its initiatives for the overall success of the company.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In summary, human resources can and must gain a strategic role through active participation and effective data-driven communication.
