TURNING PROBLEMS INTO OPPORTUNITIES AND MAKING DECISIONS THAT MATTER
OBJECTIVES
Problem solving and decision making are distinctive and essential skills in order to successfully achieve and maintain business goals.
Identifying a problem and making a decision about its solution requires: defining its type and scope, identifying its causes, identifying possible solutions, evaluating the pros and cons of alternatives and defining the implementation plan for the chosen solution.
Using the experiential methodology proposed by Alveria, participants are operationally involved in the processes, moving from "reading" the problem to its solution.
PROGRAM
Module 1
- The perception of problem boundaries: psychological and social variables influencing perceptual processes
- Problem and cause identification: cause-effect analysis, brainstorming
Module 2
- Problem solving: identifying objectives and finding alternatives
- Production and analysis of alternatives: the decision sheet, the decision tree
Module 3
- The choice of solution: the decision-making process, the stages of the process, the exploratory rationality model, criticality in the problem solving stages
- Problem solving and decision making in teams: the stages of problem solving and the stages of team life, the conditions for increasing effectiveness
PEDAGOGY
The course is highly practical. The teaching method involves continuous alternation of theoretical and practical moments with role-plays, simulations, exercises.
